# Ocean.io

> Connect Ocean.io for lookalike company discovery and contact enrichment in your workflows.

## How to set up Ocean.io

### Authentication

Ocean.io uses API key authentication:

1. Sign up at [ocean.io](https://ocean.io)
2. Navigate to your API settings
3. Copy your API key
4. Paste the API key in Cargo when connecting

## Ocean.io actions

### Enrich company

Get detailed company information from various identifiers.

**Company fields:**

* **Name**: Company name
* **Domain**: Company domain
* **Registration number**: Company registration ID
* **Email / Phone**: Contact information
* **Address details**: Country, state, city, street, postal code
* **Social profiles**: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Xing

**People (optional):** Include associated contacts with their details.

**Credits:** 1 credit per request

### Enrich person

Get detailed person information with company context.

**Person fields:**

* **ID / Name**: Person identifier
* **First name / Last name**: Full name
* **Job title**: Role at company
* **Email / Phone**: Contact information
* **Social profiles**: LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter
* **Country**: Location

**Company fields:** Same as company enrichment for context.

**Credits:** 1 credit per request

### Search companies

Find companies matching specific criteria.

**Company filters:**

Find people matching specific criteria.

**People filters:** Same as search companies people filters.

**Company filters:** Same as search companies company filters.

**Credits:** 1 credit per result (fixed)

All Ocean.io actions use a credit-based system:

## Rate limits

Ocean.io API has a rate limit of 60 requests per minute. Cargo handles rate limiting automatically.

## Best practices

* Use lookalike search to find similar companies to your best customers
* Combine company and people filters for precise targeting
* Filter by technologies for competitive displacement campaigns
* Include people in company enrichment for one-call contact discovery
* Use email status filters to ensure deliverability
