How to set up Lusha

Authentication

Lusha uses API key authentication:
  1. Log in to your Lusha account
  2. Navigate to Settings → API
  3. Generate or copy your API key
  4. Paste the API key in Cargo when connecting

Enrich

Retrieve detailed information about a person or company. For Person enrichment: Required fields:
  • Object type: Person
  • Fields: Provide identifying information:
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email
    • Company name
    • Company domain
    • LinkedIn URL
  • Filter by: Choose to return Email or Phone data
Optional fields:
  • Refresh Job Info: Enable real-time job updates
Tip: Provide at least first name, last name, and company name or domain for best results.
For Company enrichment: Required fields:
  • Object type: Company
  • Fields: Provide company name or domain
Use cases:
  • Enrich leads with verified email addresses
  • Find direct phone numbers for sales outreach
  • Verify and update contact information
  • Get company firmographic data
Search for contacts or companies matching specific criteria. For Contact search:
  • Fields: Define contact search criteria
  • Company fields: Filter by company attributes
  • Limit: Maximum records to return
For Company search:
  • Fields: Define company search criteria
  • Limit: Maximum records to return

  • Build targeted prospect lists

Credits

Lusha uses a credit-based system:
  • Search: 3 credits per search (fixed) or 3 credits per item when enriching
  • Enrich: 3 credits per request
Cargo tracks credit usage and supports caching to optimize costs.

Best practices

  • Provide multiple data points for higher match rates
  • Use caching to avoid re-enriching the same contacts
  • Enable “Refresh Job Info” for contacts that may have changed roles
  • Combine with other enrichment sources for comprehensive profiles

Rate limits

Lusha API allows up to 50 requests per second. Cargo handles rate limiting automatically.
